New procedure - client information
* UPDATE - Please note that as of the 8th of August 2020 ALL clients will be required to wear a face mask when attending the therapy room. If you forget your mask, I will be able to provide one for you. If you are having a back massage you will be able to lower your mask whilst you are face down but you will be required to put it back on when you turn over. This amendment has been made in accordance with government guidelines.
Massage therapists are now able to return to work but there will be some changes in how your appointment will proceed in order to continue to prevent the spread of infection. I list below some of the changes you can expect.
Firstly, if you are experiencing any Covid‐19 symptoms or have been in contact with anyone who has been diagnosed with Covid-19 within the last 10 days, please postpone or cancel your appointment. There will be a consent form to complete regarding your exposure to Covid‐19. If you are considered a high‐risk client, it may not be possible to see you at this time but feel free to discuss this with me. I will contact you the day before your appointment with a link to the Covid-19 screening questions. Please contact me if you develop any symptoms within 7 days of your appointment.
If you are a first‐time client, your initial consultation will take place via an online form, followed by a telephone call or video call if there are areas which need further discussion. If you are an existing client there will be a short update consultation, via an on line form, prior to your appointment to assess your needs and any Covid‐19 issues.
Please bring your own water and hair clip, as I can no longer supply these for you. If you have a face mask, please wear this but if you don’t, I will supply you with one to wear throughout your session. It would also be helpful if you could remove all jewellery prior to your treatment and please do not bring unnecessary items into the treatment room.
Please do not arrive early for your appointment. The appointments have been spaced out to allow sufficient time for clients not to be on the premises at the same time and also to allow enough time for the treatment room to be thoroughly sterilised and ventilated. Please remain outside and I will collect you at your appointment time. If you do arrive early, please note that I will ask you to wait in another room until the therapy area has been sufficiently ventilated and cleaned. Please only bring a chaperone or legal guardian if necessary. Soft furnishings in the treatment room will be covered and all unnecessary items will have been removed. Upon arrival you will be asked to sterilise your hands and enter the treatment room without touching anything. There will be a container in which to put your clothes when you undress. The treatment room will have been thoroughly disinfected and all linen and face cradles replaced for each client.
I will be wearing personal protective equipment which includes a visor, mask and apron. My hand will be thoroughly cleaned before and after the treatment. The session will continue as usual. When the session is over, please leave all the linens, untouched on the couch and sanitise your hands before you leave. It is also recommended that you register for a Track and Trace app to maintain our safety. There will be QR code available for you to scan. Please note that under the current guidelines, if another client or I develop symptoms within 10 days of you attending the treatment room I will need to provide your contact details to track and trace. Please note that by signing the consultation forms you are agreeing to this.
Payment can be made prior to the appointment via direct bank transfer but contactless payment or cash payments are also available. If you are paying with cash, please bring the correct money and place it in the supplied envelope. Please note, appointments will be spaced further apart than usual to enable disinfection of the treatment space, therapy table, equipment and facilities. I look forward to welcoming you back to the therapy room.
I assure you that I will do everything possible to keep the therapy space clean and ventilated and I will be taking regular tests to give you peace of mind.
