Aftercare Advice

​

Holistic therapy treatments are a way of detoxifying the body, boosting the immune system and stimulating the body’s systems. As your therapist, I recommend following this aftercare advice to gain maximum benefit from the treatments.

Increase the amount of water you drink for the few days after the treatment. If you can drink about 2 litres of water, this can assist your body to flush out toxins that massage helps to release from your body. Try to reduce your caffeine intake (coffee, tea, colas)

  • Avoid alcohol and recreational drugs for 24 hours

​

  • Try to cut down on smoking

​

  • Make time to rest and relax, try breathing exercises

​

  • Eat light healthy meals

​

​

Occasionally, you may experience something called a “Healing Reaction” after a treatment as the body starts to go through a self-healing process.  This is very normal and it is a positive sign that your body has responded to the treatment and that it is starting to balance itself. Typical reactions include…

​

  • Frequent visits to the toilet​

​

  • Slight rash or spots as the skin re-balances

​

  • Conditions that have been suppressed may flare up temporarily before they heal

​

  • Sleepy & fatigued or deeply relaxed or difficulty sleeping and vivid dreams.

​

  • Cold like symptoms

​

  • Increased sweating

​

  • Heightened emotions – high or low​

​

  • Energised

​​

  • Increased thirst

 

 

These reactions are only temporary and they should clear within 24-48 hours. Not everyone will experience these symptoms.
